
No. 5 Men's Tennis Upsets No. 2 Keiser to Advance to Championship Match of ITA Men's Indoor Championships
OVERLAND PARK, Kan.- After their win on Friday, the men's tennis team played moved to the semifinals of the 2025 ITA NAIA Men's Team Indoor Championships on Saturday. The fifth-ranked Bulldogs earned their way to the championship match by upsetting the No. 2 Keiser University Seahawks in a 4-0 sweep.
TWU became the first to four points by taking the doubles point. Agustin Gaia and Maceo Simpson took the No. 1 doubles match 7-5 while the No. 2 match was won 6-1 by Juan Carlos Garcia and Octavio Volpi.
In the singles matches, Garica (No. 2, 7-6, 6-2), Asier Pascual (No. 5, 6-4, 6-3), and Zolio Rios (No. 6, 6-1, 6-4) all won their matches to give the team the four points needed to clinch the match.
Tennessee Wesleyan (2-0) will play in the championship match on Saturday against No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett College at 7:30 p.m.
