Men's Outdoor Track and Field Compete at First Outdoor Meet in 2024

CLEVELAND, Tenn.- The men's outdoor track and field team ran their first outdoor meet of the 2024 season on Friday and Saturday. The team competed at the Lee University Invitational. 

The team saw a number of successes during the meet. The team had 11 top-15 finishes at the meet and 12 qualifiers for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships.

Finishing in the top 15 of events were and qualifying for the conference championship meet were:

• Roni Bailey: 200m Dash- 21.85; 7th | 400m- 50.04; 8th
• Eli Cox: 800m- 2:00.08; 11th
• Mack Alas: 10,000m- 32:28.13; 10th
• Caleb Greene: 10,000m- 33:28.70; 13th
• Adrian Neika-Hernandez: 3000m Steeplechase- 10:30.85; 11th
• Jack Headrick: 3000m Steeplechase- 11:02.57; 15th
• 4x100m Relay Team (Chris Harper, Fedjy Calixte, Jeremiah Johnson, Bailey): 43.40; 7th
• Fedjy Calixte- Long Jump- 6.14m; 3rd*
• Tyson Thompson: Discus- 38.53m; 15th | Javelin- 45.51m; 7th

All of the above qualified for the event at the conference championships, along with:

• Jones: 100m Dash
• Tyler Bowers: 800m 
• Dontae Campbell: 110m Hurdles
• Thompson: Hammer Throw

(*Did not qualify for conference championship meet)

The team will compete again on Friday at the 2024 Kennesaw State Invitational on Friday.
