Men's Outdoor Track and Field Explodes at AAC Championships

COLUMBIA, S.C.- One of the moments the men's outdoor track and field team had been preparing for arrived. The time came for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which were held from Thursday to Saturday in Columbia, S.C.

The top three finishers in an event not only made the podium while earning a medal for their finish, the top three finishers would also be named All-Conference in the event.

The men's 4x800m Relay of Tyler Bowers, Stephen Kerley, Zane Marlow, and Eli Cox finished second in the event to earn a spot on the podium and All-Conference honors in the event. The team ran a time of 7:55.02.

Other notable finishes include:

  • Chris Harper: 100m Dash- 10.87; 7th
  • Roni Bailey: 200m Dash- 22.24; 6th | 400m Race- 49.36, 8th
  • Bowers: 800m- 1:56.17, 5th
  • Kerley: 800m- 1:58.50
  • Mack Alas: 5000m- 15:42.44, 9th | 10,000m- 33:14.89, 9th
  • Adrian Neika-Hernandez: 3000m Steeplechase- 10:17.87; 7th
  • 4x100m Relay (Harper, Bailey, Fedjy Calixte, Jeremiah Jones): 42.22, 5th
  • 4x400m Relay (Bowers, Kerley, Michael Fuchs, Bailey): 3:36.08, 8th
  • Calixte: Long Jump- 6.65m, 4th
  • Armoni Hicks: Long Jump- 6.58m, 8th
  • Tyson Thompson: Javelin- 46.38m; 6th 

The team will run in one final meet of the season at the Lee Last Chance Meet on Saturday, May 11.
