Men's Cross Country Crosses Finish Line at XC Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The men's cross country team traveled for another meet on Friday. The schedule took the Bulldogs to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Royals XC Challenge. The meet consisted of teams from NCAA Division I, II, III, and the NAIA.

In the field of 275 racers Eli Cox had the highest finish on the team, running the race in a time of 26:19. Mack Alas was two spots behind in 80th place with a time of 26:26. A time of 27:10 gave Caleb Greene 117th place in the individual results. Jack Headrick completed the 8k course in a time of 28:07 to place 172nd while Adrian Nelka-Hernandez was 194th with a time of 28:41. 

Tyler Bowers crossed the finish line in a time of 28:53 to finish in 206th place to go along with a 212th place finish by Zane Marlow in a time of 29:03. Rounding the Bulldogs in the race was Charlie Wilson (29:26, 221st), Conner Craig (29:39, 225th) and Ray Richardson (30:34, 240th).

There were 30 teams competing in the race and Tennessee Wesleyan finished as the 17th best time at the meet. The team finished with 465 points. 

The team will run their final meet of the regular season for their next race, serving as the hosts of the NAIA Appalachian Challenge on Friday, Oct. 20.
