Athens, Tenn.- The softball team began a three-game homestand to end the season on Monday. The first series saw the team go against the (RV) Reinhardt University Lady Eagles in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series.
Game One:
A defensive battle that saw six hits from both teams only saw one run score in the game. The run happened in the sixth inning. Unfortunately, the run went for the opponents, and the Lady Bulldogs could not convert their hits in the sixth and seventh innings to runs, falling in the first game 1-0.
Game Two:
Much like the first game, a lot of runs did not cross home plate. Only three runs were scored in the game. The opponents took the first lead of the game, scoring two runs in the top of the first. Reinhardt added one more run to their score to win the second game 3-0.
The next game of the homestand takes place on Tuesday. The team will host Kentucky Christian University in their final conference doubleheader of the season. The first game of the doubleheader is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
