Softball Season Ends at AAC Tournament

KINGSPORT, Tenn.- A day after winning two elimination games against the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, the softball team played another elimination game on Friday, with a trip to the championship game of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament on the line. Unfortunately, the team's run in the tournament came to an end as the No. 6 seeded Lady Bulldogs fell to No. 7 seed Brenau University 3-0.

The opponents put TWU in a hole early in the game, scoring a run in the top of the first. The Lady Bulldogs got a single from Tatum Massengale in the second inning but was unable to turn it into a run. Another opportunity presented itself in the third inning, this time a Carlynn Atamaniuk single and a Macy Chastain walk. The third out occurred before the team could bring in their first run. The remaining of the four hits the team had in the game came in the sixth inning. Courtney Sneed and Mackenzie Baldwin recorded the hits, but the team was not able to turn them into runs.

The team finishes the season with a 26-12 record.
