Comeback Falls Short for Women's Basketball Against Bryan

DAYTON, Tenn.- In a tightly contested matchup, the women's basketball team showed incredible determination but fell short against Bryan College, 60-54, in a game filled with standout moments from the Lady Bulldogs.

TWU began the game with a defensive mindset, holding Bryan College to just 11 points in the first quarter. Jalaya Lindsey grabbed early rebounds, and Jacelyn Stone provided a spark with a key three-pointer. Despite some early turnovers, TWU led 12-11 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Anna Crowder and Jaci Powell fueled TWU's offense. Crowder's sharp shooting, including a three-pointer, and Powell's work on the boards kept TWU competitive. As Bryan surged late in the half, TWU stayed within striking distance, trailing 26-22 at halftime.

TWU ramped up the intensity in the third quarter. Lindsey's layups and a clutch three-pointer brought the Bulldogs closer, while Powell continued to dominate in the paint. Stone's scoring efforts kept the Bulldogs fighting, but Bryan pulled ahead late, leading 49-37 heading into the final quarter.

The Bulldogs mounted a strong comeback attempt in the fourth quarter. Lindsey and Stone combined for several key baskets, including a three-pointer from Lindsey that narrowed the deficit to just three points. Powell hit a game-tying three-pointer with three minutes left, bringing the score to 53-53. However, Bryan responded with critical baskets down the stretch, and TWU's efforts fell just short in the final moments.

Lindsey led the offense with a career-high 19 points in the game.
