Women's Golf Wins TWU Spring Invitational

NIOTA, Tenn.- The women's golf team played their final event of the regular season on Monday and Tuesday, playing as the hosts of the TWU Spring Invitational. The tournament was played at Springbrook Golf and Country Club in Niota, Tenn.

TWU had three golfers finish in the top 10 of the individual leaderboard. Bevin Harrill had the best finish on the team, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team with a total score of 161 after round scores of 81 and 80. A total score of 163 after rounds of 82 and 81 also gave Cora Mount a spot on the All-Tournament Team with a sixth-place finish. Morgan Satterfield finished in seventh place after rounds of 79 and 85 making her total 164 while Ann Sofie Madsen shot 85 and 86 to finish with a total of 168 to finish in 11th place. Madison Atchley was 22nd on the scoreboard, carding 91 and 86 in the two rounds for a total of 177.

Playing in the tournament as individuals, Olivia Sargla (85, 91; 176) finished in a tie for 20th, June Greene (97, 96; 193) was 35th, Cadie Prater (93, 106; 199) and Carlee McLemore (97, 102; 199) finished in a tie for 39th.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs were the tournament winners, holding the lead in each round. The team was tied for first in the first round with a score of 327 and shot 329 in the second round to come out on top with a 656 two-round score. 

The team will play for a conference championship and a chance to go to the national tournament in their next tournament at the AAC Direct Qualifier. The conference championship tournament is set for Monday and Tuesday at Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Ga.
