Women's Golf Opens Spring Season with Seventh Place Finish

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C..- The women's golf team started the spring portion of their schedule on Monday and Tuesday. The team played at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational at Lion's Paw/Panther's Run Golf Links, Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.

Maisie Hassall shot up the leaderboard to finish third overall and on the All-Tournament Team with a total of 154 after rounds of 80 and 74. Cadie Prater shot 90 and 84 to total 174 and finished 25th while June Greene scored 86 and 92 for a total score of 178 to finish in a tie for 33rd place. Maylie Stout (100, 91; 191) and Ashlynn Guy (98, 95; 193) were back-to-back on the leaderboard, finishing in 61st and 62nd. Ashlyn Rawlings placed 65th with scores of 98 and 100 for a 198 total.

As a team, the Lady Bulldogs shot a 354 and 341 over the two rounds. The two-round total of 695 place the team seventh overall.

Tennessee Wesleyan will return to the links on March 24-25 at the Blue Mountain Invite at the Mississippi State University Club, West Point, Miss.
