ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's lacrosse team was not able to find an offensive rhythm on Friday in their game against No. 6 Reinhardt University. The team fell in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) game 23-3.
After falling down 2-0, Olivia Downey got the team on the board with a goal to cut the lead in half. Unfortunately, the game took a turn as Reinhardt scored the next 13 goals, putting the Lady Bulldogs down 15-1 at halftime.
Out of the halftime break, the teams exchanged goals with Downey scoring her second goal of the game. The opponents took an 18-2 lead into the final quarter though.
Jozlyn Long got on the board for TWU, scoring on a free-position shot in the fourth quarter.
Rylee Brendling finished the game with 14 saves in the net.
TWU (2-6, 0-2 AAC) plays a non-conference game against Emory & Henry University on Monday. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
