
Women's Lacrosse Sees Eight Win AAC Awards
WALESKA, Ga.- The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the end-of-year awards for women's lacrosse on Thursday. Tennessee Wesleyan had eight student-athletes earn awards.
Stephanie Rocha was named to the All-AAC Second Team as a midfielder. Rocha led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 caused turnovers this season. In 12 games played, all of which were starts, Rocha recorded 13 points in the form of six goals and seven assists. Rocha also picked up 26 ground balls. The senior was sixth among midfielders in caused turnovers.
Abi Weed was named the team's representative to the AAC Champions of Character Team. To be named to the Champions of Character Team, a player must exhibit the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
Earning a spot on the AAC All-Academic Team were Rylee Brendlinger, Kate Buchanan, Olivia Downey, Kylie Heinrich, Hannah O'Daniel, Rocha, and Jacie Trejo. To be selected for the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore in academic standing and maintain a 3.25 grade-point average.
