ATHENS, Tenn.- The quest toward a conference championship began for the women's soccer team on Saturday. As the No. 2 seed in the tournament, the team got a bye to the tournament's quarterfinal round. The team eventually found out their opponent would be the Milligan University Buffaloes, the No. 7 seed in the tournament.
Tennessee Wesleyan took control of the game early. Addison Smith scored a goal 2:55 into the game and less than a minute later, Krista Eik Hardardottir made the score 2-0 with a goal. The defense never let Milligan's offense get into a rhythm, holding on to their 2-0 lead through the halftime break.
Hardardottir scored her second goal of the game in the 49th minute on a Natascha Frei assist to make the lead 3-0. In the 71st minute, Hardardottir completed her fifth hat trick of the season, scoring off an Anna-Lena Strauss assist to give the team a 4-0 advantage. The game ended with the team winning 5-0 after Lauryn Martel scored in the 80th minute, advancing the team to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, the Lady Bulldogs (15-1-1) will face the No. 3 seed in the tournament, Reinhardt University. The game will be played in Athens on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
