Women's Soccer Charges St. Andrews 12-0

LAURINBURG, N.C.- The women's soccer team played their final road game of the regular season on Saturday. The team charged 12 goals to their score in a shutout Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win against the St. Andrews University Lady Knights. 

Krista Eik Hardardottir played a part in the first three goals of the game. Hardardottir started the scoring, putting the first goal on the board in the fourth minute off Laura Nunning's pass. The next goal came off a Hardardottir assist when Natascha Frei scored on her pass. Hardardottir scored the next goal, this time off a Marte Stokseth assist. The team went into halftime leading 4-0 after Lisa Kirwan scored off Julia Starchl's assist. 

Three minutes into the second half, Nunning got into the scoring column, scoring off Alyssa Battiston's assist. The sixth and seventh goals of the game were both scored by Stokseth, going on the board 27 seconds a part. Valerie Koopman moved the lead to eight goals while Hardardottir scored back-to-back goals to give the team 10 goals and her four goals in the game. Kirwan and Annabel Cuthbert closed out the scoring to move the score to 12-0 at the end of the game.

The win moved the team's record to 11-1-2 overall and 11-0-1 in the AAC.
