No. 2 Seed Women's Soccer Moves on to AAC Championship

ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's soccer team returned to the TWU Athletic Complex for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament Semifinals on Tuesday. The second-seeded Lady Bulldogs hosted the No. 3 seed in the tournament, the Reinhardt University Lady Eagles.

TWU scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute. Krista Eik Hardardottir gave the team the lead, scoring off Addison Smith's assist. The one-goal advantage held for the remainder of the first half.

Eight minutes into the second half, Reinhardt tied the score. The score did not remain tied for long though. On a corner kick, Natascha Frei connected with the flying ball sent in by Valerie Koopman to put the team up for good in the 62nd minute. The 2-1 win move the team on to the AAC Championship game for the second year in a row.

TWU (14-0-2) will face the No. 1 seed in the tournament, Truett McConnell University, on Saturday in Cleveland, Ga. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m.
