Chasset Wins AAC Weekly Award

WALESKA, Ga.- Mercedes Chasset was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday. This was the second edition of the season.

Chasset took home the award based on her performances against the University of North Georgia and Columbus State University. The team went 1-1 against the two NCAA Division II foes. In the match against North Georgia, Chasset lost two close battles, falling in the No. 4 singles match 7-6 (12-10), 7-5 and the No. 2 doubles match 7-6 (8-6). In the second match of the week, the Rosario, Argentina native helped the team defeat Columbus State 4-3. The junior won both the matches she played in, the No. 2 doubles 6-2 and the No. 3 singles 6-4, 4-6 [12-10].

This is the first weekly award for Chasset. The next edition of the award will be announced on Monday, March 18.
