No. 6 Women's Tennis Clinches Match Against Montevallo

ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's tennis team was back in action on Thursday. After playing a conference match the previous day, the sixth-ranked Lady Bulldogs played a non-conference match against the University of Montevallo, a NCAA Division II opponent. The match between the two teams was played in a clinch format, meaning the match would end after the first team scores four points.

TWU took the doubles point to lead 1-0. Mercedes Chasset and Julia Richardet won the No. 2 doubles point 6-3 while Astrid Staksrud and Ivet Prat took the No. 3 doubles match 6-3.

Olivia Alcala, Laia Berne, and Prat ended the match for the team. Alcala won the No. 1 singles match 7-5, 6-3 to give the team two points. Berne moved the team's score to three points with a 6-3, 6-4 win in the No. 3 singles. The fourth point came from the racket of Prat in the form of a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 4 singles. The final match score was 4-1. 

The schedule takes the Bulldogs (12-3) on the road for the final time on Friday when the team faces SCAD Atlanta. The conference game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
