
No. 7 Women's Tennis Claw Truett McConnell
ATHENS, Tenn.- The women's tennis team went on the road for their first true road match of the regular season on Thursday. The seventh-ranked team in the NAIA defeated the Truett McConnell University 7-0 in an AAC match.
TWU swept the doubles matches with 6-0 scores. Astrid Staksrud and Ivet Prat won No. 1 doubles, Julia Richardet and Honoka Tsuji won No. 2 doubles, Jenn Marie Gjos and Paula Cigarran.
The remainder of the sweep saw Olivia Alcala win the No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-0) Gjos take the No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-1), Tsjui win the No. 3 singles,(6-0, 6-0), Staksrud win the No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-2), Cigarran win the No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-0) and Julieta Beltramino win the No. 6 singles (6,0, 6-0).
The Lady Bulldogs (3-2, 2-0) return home for their next AAC match, facing Columbia College at 1:45 PM.
