No. 7 Women's Tennis Serve Way to Win Against Belmont Abbey

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- The women's tennis made a short trip to Chattanooga to play an NCAA Division II opponent on Wednesday. The team defeated the Belmont Abbey College Lady Crusaders 5-2 in the neutral site match.

Tennessee Wesleyan won all the doubles matches. Olivia Alcala and Astrid Staksrud (No. 1), Mercedes Chasset and Ivet Prat (No. 2), and Julia Richardet and Honoka Tsuji (No. 3) put the Lady Bulldogs ahead 1-0 heading to the singles. 

Alcala (No. 1), Laia Berne (No. 4), Tsuji (No. 5), and Prat (No. 6) all won their singles matches to help the team win the match 5-2.

TWU (7-2) plays again on Friday against the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. The match in Chattanooga is set for 2:00 p.m.
