Chasset and Alcala Named NAIA Women's Tennis All-Americans

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The women's tennis team saw two student-athletes earn a spot on the NAIA Women's Tennis All-American Teams. The teams were announced by the national office on Friday. Mercedes Chasset was named to the First Team and Olivia Alcala was named to the Third Team.

Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee. Sixteen student-athletes were chosen to comprise first, second, and third teams. This is the first time the NAIA has named a third team. In 2023, Alcala became the first women's tennis player in program history to be named to the First Team.

Chasset finished with an overall record of 13-5 in singles, with a 12-4 record during the 2025 portion of the season. The senior played in the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 spots during the season. The Rosario, Argentina native was 13-4 in doubles play, including a 13-3 record in the spring season. Chasset was named to the All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) First Team and finished the season ranked No. 34 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Singles Rankings. Chasset is the second student-athlete in program history to be named to the First Team.

Alcala went 10-8 during the season in singles play, including 7-6 record in the No. 1 singles spot in the spring. The Barcelona, Spain native went 12-6 in doubles play in the No. 1 position. Alcala was named to the All-AAC First Team and  finished the 2025 season ranked No. 62 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Singles Rankings. This is the third straight season Alcala has been named to one of the All-American Teams.

TWU finished the season 17-5 overall, setting the record for the second-most wins in program history, and as a national semifinalist in the NAIA Tournament.
