Volleyball Win Streak Broken Against Montreat

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C.- The volleyball team returned to the court on Saturday, carrying a three-match win streak into their road Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contest against the Montreat College Lady Cavaliers. The ball did not fall the team's way though as Montreat won the match 3-1.

After falling in the first set, 25-20, the Lady Bulldogs showed the resilience that had helped them win their previous two matches in five sets. Offensive production from Olivia Bolin, Amya Sutton, Olivia Miller, Shante Smith, Jia Weathersby, Alley Hibdon, and Janie Merritt helped the team win the second set 25-19.

The third set was particularly intense, with both teams fighting hard. Tennessee Wesleyan took Montreat over the limit but narrowly lost 27-25. The fourth set saw Montreat seal the match, but not without Tennessee Wesleyan forcing errors and staying within striking distance at 25-20.

Sutton led the offense with 16 kills.
