
Volleyball Earns AAC Awards
WALESKA, Ga.- The WinWon Volleyball Awards were announced by Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Wednesday. The volleyball team saw a player earn All-Conference honors along with a Champions of Character representative and multiple All-Academic members.
Megan Thompson was named to the All-AAC Second Team. The libero was fourth in the conference in digs and digs per set. Thompson had 600 digs in 118 sets this season for 5.08 digs per set. Both season totals are career-highs for Thompson.
The team's representative on the AAC Champions of Character Team was Gracelyn Jackson. To be named to the Champions of Character Team, a player must exhibit the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
Olivia Bolin, Bailey Dalton, Jackson, Morae Owens, and Thompson all earned a spot on the AAC All-Academic Team. To be selected to the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be in sophomore in academic standing and maintain a 3.25 grade-point average.
