Bio

Gabby Harris begins her second season as an assistant volleyball coach in the 2023-24 season.

Harris played volleyball at Tennessee Wesleyan, helping the team qualify for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament twice during her career (2018 and 2019). Harris, a middle hitter, finished her playing career with 441 kills, 120 digs, and 129 total blocks (77 block assists and 52 block solos).

As a high school player, Harris was named the 15AAA Player of the Year and to the All-Conference Team in 2016. In 2017, the accolades continued to roll in as Harris was named District MVP, District All-Tournament MVP, All-Conference Team, and All-State Team.

While a member of the volleyball program, Harris was very involved in the campus and Athens community. Harris was a member of the Black Student Union (BSU) for four years, serving as Vice President of the campus organization for two years. While a member and VP of BSU, Harris helped establish several events within the campus and Athens community and helped ensure all students felt welcome to enjoy events hosted by BSU. Harris also served as a Resident Advisor for two years.

Harris also gained coaching experience during her time as a student-athlete at TWU. Harris served as a coach for the volleyball program at Athens City Schools all four years she was on campus as a student-athlete. Harris also coached at Victory Volleyball Academy for two years, coaching the 17s in her first year and the 18s in her second year.

Harris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Physical Education in May 2022. Harris was named the TWU Champions of Character for volleyball in 2022.
