
Women's Cross Country Competes Well at Southern Showcase
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- The women's cross country team ran for the second time this season on Friday. The team competed at one of the premier meets in the southeast region, the Southern Showcase. The meet drew 36 teams from all the collegiate levels, including NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCCA.
Molly Woodby had the top time for the team, completing the 5000m race at 20:56.30 to finish 228th overall. In the race consisting of 332 runners, Ashlynne Brown was the next runner for TWU to cross the finish line, running a time of 22:06.40. Victoria Verran completed the course at John Hunt Park. Kinsley Hayes was the next runner to finish for the Lady Bulldogs, finishing in 314th place with a time of 26:52 while Reagan Goforth completed the course in a time of 27:39.20 to finish 321st.
Up next for Tennessee Wesleyan is the Covenant College Mountain Stride on Sept. 30.
