No. 5 Men's Tennis Opens Season with Win at ITA NAIA Men's Team Indoor Championships

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.- The men's tennis team played their first match of the 2025 regular season at the 2025 ITA NAIA Men's Team Indoor Championships. The fifth-ranked Bulldogs faced No. 14 Lindsey Wilson College, sweeping the match 4-0. 

In the first to four scenario, TWU took the doubles point with wins in the No. 1 match by Agustin Gaia and  Maceo 6-3 and in the No. 2 match by Juan Carlos Garcia and Octavio Volpi 6-2.

In the singles matches, Volpi (No. 1, 6-4, 6-4) Garica (No. 2, 6-4, 6-4), and David Leon (No. 4, 6-4, 6-2) all won their matches to give the team the four points needed to clinch the match. 

The team moves on to the semifinals where they will face No. 2 Keiser University at 7:30 p.m.
