
No. 2 Men's Tennis Plunder Milligan
ATHENS, Tenn.- The second-ranked men's tennis team was back in action on their home court on Wednesday. The team hosted the Milligan University Buffaloes, beating the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponents 7-0.
Tennessee Wesleyan won all the doubles matches, taking a 1-0 lead. Juan Carlos Garcia and Octavio Volpi won the first doubles match 6-2, Maceo Simpson and Rocco Mariani won the No. 2 doubles 7-5 while Zolios Rios and David Leon took the No. 3 doubles match 6-2.
To finish the sweep, Volpi won the No. 1 singles 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, Garica won the No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-4, Patricio Gallegos won the No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2, Chanon Phunsawat took the No. 4 singles 6-0, 7-6, Leon won the No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-1, and Simpson won the No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-1.
Tennessee Wesleyan (6-2) plays the University of Pikeville in a conference match on Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m.
