Men's Tennis Win Fifth Consecutive AAC Regular Season Title

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C.- The men's tennis team played their final conference match of the season. The second-ranked Bulldogs beat the Montreat College Cavaliers 7-0 on Tuesday. The win gave the team the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Regular Season Title, their fifth straight regular season title. 

In winning the doubles point, TWU won all three doubles matches. Maceo Simpson and Agustin Gaia won the No. 1 doubles match 6-1, Rocco Mariani and Juan Carlos Garcia won the No. 2 doubles match 6-2, and David Leon and Zoilo Rios won the No. 3 doubles match 6-1. 

The sweep continued with Garcia winning the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-3, Patricio Gallegos taking the win in the No. 2 singles match 5-7, 6-2, 7-5, Leon winning the No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-0, Rios winning the No. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-2, Mariani winning the No. 5 7-6, 6-4, [7] while Benjamin Poblete won the No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

The team finished the season with an 8-0 AAC record. The Bulldogs, who are 11-2 overall, move on to the AAC Tournament on April 10-12. The team will enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed and play the No. 8 seed in the opening round. The tournament is being held at Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
