No. 2 seed Men's Tennis Sweep Way to NAIA Tournament Quarterfinals

MOBILE, Ala.- After getting a bye in the first round, the men's tennis team played in the second round of the 2025 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament on Wednesday. The second-seeded Bulldogs swept No. 15 seed Dillard University 4-0.

The tournament is being played at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala., and is being played in a first-to-clinch format, meaning the team to score four points wins the match.

Maceo Simpson and Agustin Gaia, and Octavio Volpi and Juan Carlos Garcia won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches with 6-3 scores to give the team the doubles point.

Three wins in the singles by Chanon Phunsawat, David Leon, and Asier Pascual gave the team the match. Phunsawat won the No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-2, Leon took the No. 5 singles with identical 6-4 scores, and Pascual won the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-1. 

The win moves TWU (15-2) to the quarterfinals of the tournament. The team will face No. 7 seed SCAD Savannah on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
