Women's Soccer Nabs AAC Weekly Awards

WALESKA, Ga.- The women's soccer team swept the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer weekly awards for the second time this season. The conference office announced Krista Eik Hardardottir as the Offensive Player of the Week award while Laia Roch Font was named the Defensive Player of the Week. 

In two wins last week, Hardardottir recorded five points, scoring twice and accumulating an assist. The senior scored a goal and assisted on a goal against Brenau University in their 2-0 win. The Husavik, Iceland native's second goal of the week occurred in the 3-0 win against Columbia International University. This is the third weekly award for Hardardottir.

Roch Font had two shutout wins in the net for the Lady Bulldogs. The Vic, Spain native had 12 saves in 180 minutes of action during the 2-0 week. The senior goalkeeper had 10 saves against Brenau University in a 2-0 win while having two saves against Columbia International in the 3-0 win. This is the first weekly honor for Roch Font.

The next edition of the weekly awards will be announced on Monday, Oct. 14.
